Presenting Island in the National Palace of Culture attracted more than twice as many people expected you. The documentary shocking! and the discussion group that followed with Alberto Fuentes, of the Archives of the PN. Uli Stelzner , the producer, made a surprise visit. The blog United Latin American makes an interesting review (and incidentally me very brief interview.) You can read it by clicking here .
Today will tell a discussion group to which I was lucky enough to go and which was excellent .
Gradually people began arriving, some with children, some walking the dog, and curiosity were joining the group that came to hear the discussion with Javier Payet , organized by students of neighborhood organization module Arts and Culture in Your Neighborhood offered by the Cultural Center of Spain . In the end, there was a large group of about 25 people or more that beautiful morning in the Cerrito del Carmen .
Indeed, in the courses section, do not miss the new series of courses in drawing and painting, poetry and guitar for all ages that start Sunday in El Cerrito del Carmen .
As I was telling, it was a good group. Many took out paper and began to take note, because Payeras conversation about his personal experience in the cultural circles of Guatemala to this day, especially in the 90s until today, was fascinating and was a treasure trove of historical information is imparted enjoyable and fun. Just what was the Questions and Answers section.
To me personally, I liked when we pulled out several books from his backpack, to show that most influenced his life as an artist, as author and professional. (Speaking of books, I'm reading the last book of "Bolo Flores" and I am enjoying).
View playground in El Cerrito del Carmen
join Do not miss the next informal discussion group organized by students of the module, which will be taught by well-known writer and journalist Luis Aceituno . And if you missed the conversation with Javier Payet or want to hear more, soon present another discussion group on the history of rock Bad Attitude. See it in the Events section .
again, and before I forget, for those interested in photography too good, I invite you to see the last of Eny Roland for the magazine's Magacín Siglo XXI. visit them by clicking here .
I venture to predict that the Cerrito del Carmen may well be the next "Happening place" of Historical Center.
The park has been beautifully restored thanks largely to the invaluable Teoxché intervention, and neighbors are not left behind, using the public spaces of the great organizing cultural events in the neighborhood, as was the music hosted by the Colectivo Cultural Pie Wool within the framework of the Know Your Neighborhood Festival organized by Urban .
envision a day in the surrounding cafes, artistic and cultural intevenciones more commercial development by neighborhood residents. Y witch as I think it will come true, because I imagined myself to The Sixth and I come! El Cerrito del Carmen, however, lends itself to a more engaged with its original inhabitants.
Sundays is great to go to Cerrito. John Chapin Street closed for Steps and pedals. In addition, the park has a children's area, clean restrooms, a nice outdoor cafe, schools of music, painting and literature outdoor and more. I recommend it!
Gossip: already told me several people that the event in Silverio Ultraviolet Projects was wild. A lot like they broke his head. Metaphorically speaking, of course. Always something interesting happening in Ultraviolet Projects you!
And now for the events. There is absolutely something to do every day, they can even go from one event to another, day after day. I recommend
especially the Guatemalan Film Festival in the courtyard of the National Palace . Controversial film and discussion with Julio Prado (yeah, yeah, fair, it's famous News For God ), someone who is very interesting to offer us after which we can all go eat tacos and even have a lovely cold when there Tacos Tequila in hand.
Fixed "we see you Friday then?

For my part, I already signed up a cursos libres aqui en el Centro Histórico .
Hugs to everyone!
