Female Bodybuilders From Hell

LA LUPE, Farn AND WORST HAMBURGER BÁSICO3

La Sexta, Historical Center

The title of today sounds around tin marin two ping ... but everything has its reason for being, you see.

The picture today is the statue of Tasso. Most of you have seen the statue of Tasso Hadjidodou that although not much like our beloved Tasso, has become one of the icons sculptural Paseo de La Sexta.

And speaking of La Sexta, a new and interesting article on the Lux Cinema (75 years old) and its rebirth as a cultural center can be read by clicking here .

back to the statue . The people around him to take pictures with it and when it came to putting his new glasses (after someone stole the first he had), there was a large crowd to witness the renewal of the statue's glasses. It makes me and everyone we've taken a liking to the statue as well.

Speaking of people who inspires love and respect ...

I tell them the good and Farnés Básico3 came to give a talk at a neighborhood cultural management course being taught courtesy the Cultural Center of Spain , in collaboration with Urban in district Cerrito del Carmen.

Jose Farnes has been for many years a staunch advocate for artists orginales Guatemalans Básico3 field of rock and is a musician and "merge synergist" (I can not think of another way to describe it) of music events. Both spaces have forged upstream and me so, I admire.

In this talk was amply demonstrated also that the two are naturally born educators.

addition to providing valuable expertise and timely development and promotion of events, the talk really focused on the spirit of what arts and cultural management, the need to have a dream, the persistence to follow, and the importance of having goals that transcend the material rewards: If you do what you love, the money will come . It is more ...

Cultural Center Gallery Red House

Farnés Básico3 and managed to open (again!) Mental doors and break paradigms and stereotypes among several of the attendees, about what which is the cultural wealth of rock and Hip Hop Guatemala. Attendees were delighted with the conversation, were motivated and inspired.

hope that they can be repeated many more conversations of this caliber in Historical Center. Stay tuned! Speaking of good vibes in the Historic Center ...

We have a new cultural center! Have coffee, bar, library, audio library and art gallery. called Red House and is located on the 3rd Ave 6-51 Zone 1 (Against Bookstore Fatima).

Gallery The Red House opened its doors

with the opening of the exhibition La Lupe II, based on re-interpretations of images of the Virgin emerging artists from Guadeloupe Guatemala.

According to the official description: "The exhibition is proposed as a debate and denunciation. It is hoped that work can open the door to personal and collective reflection on the cultural and religious customs."

La Lupe II Exhibition at La Casa Roja

Some images are of a mystical beauty and dreamy, while others are downright irreverent, cartoonish and even vulgar, but in a friendly and inviting thinking. It is always interesting and entertaining to watch re-interpretations of classics:-mouthed, ideas, and some Sometimes inspiration. And lust! Greed that I wanted to almost all parts present.

Artists Lilo Euler, photographer Ana Cabrera, violinist, in the courtyard of La Casa Roja

I liked a lot more pieces, including photography exhibition of the sociologist and photographer Lilo Euler, who took a series of photographs of Guadalupe Day celebrations of the Garifuna community in Guatemala. Lilo combines an artistic eye with idiosyncratic enough sensitivity sociologist with excellent results.

I have not yet seen the list of lottery this week, but one thing I say: If I won it, I will return to buy several of the pieces on display in Red House .

Visitor II La Lupe, La Casa Roja

Red House itself offers a nice space in the new version is better than when it was successfully performed Free Coffee. Where was the cafeteria is now a cozy library - or what will the library when completed - and the cafeteria became a space that was the dining room and space antañon original carriage house or car. I immediately put down a photo of the cafeteria. I was very good.

By the way, you can see in the picture above the floors most beautiful and best preserved in the house! And floors are works of art in itself and almost do not look so well preserved.

Cultural Center Cafe Bar Red House

the time I was there a seductive atmosphere permeated the aroma of delicious food. I was introduced to the culinary artists in charge of the kitchen, and enthusiastic young people with obvious love for his art. No doubt there will be an experience to eat a lot --- much, much! - Better than Jack's burgers Place mentioned in the post of last week.

Lojo culinary artists and Friends Sebastian Kitchen of the Cultural Centre Red House

also located in The Red House is the headquarters of A. Porras, director of The Firefly, with its famous collection of historical cinema Guatemala. In other words, a cultural center that offers everything really! I think it's worth seeing. Is open in the evenings.

And before they close, will also also visit:
a) Exposing Hip Hop Revolution in Ex-Centric ( the 7th Ave between 12 and 13 streets Central Bar on ). I've already gone like 3 times and never get tired of seeing her. Super worth it! REE L cost.
b) The stunning exhibition of 40 photos of Jean-Marie Simon , Eternal Spring, Eternal Tyranny , years of armed conflict. In the Palace of Culture until 30 January. Free cost.

Other than that, I have not accomplished much because I've gone very busy working - occasionally when I work, you do not believe it! - But one evening I was pleased to refurbish the famous writer Max Araujo as before Coffee was Imeri and today is Aida C . The menu changed a bit, it is more trendy or modern, but basically the same food as tasty as ever, in the same family friendly atmosphere that characterizes him.

Indeed, famous Aida C (6th street between the 4th and 3rd Avenues) is the cheesecake with corn. Try it with a coffee, I like it.

Cafe Bar and Red House

I also had some coffee with friends at Jack's Place . going back to wheat mule, as they say, but this time I went for my friends wanted to know. And do not ask for burgers, but the service for our drinks was sooooo slow better and not ask anything to eat.

It takes about 20 minutes just to give one the menu, and then ... I swear ... all (every last!) the waiters and waitresses were gone for about 10 or 15 minutes and during that time there was none to attend! Easily could have been going a lot without paying the bill and neither would have noticed.

As I'm picky, right? And for the record that I always believe in telling good and bad, that you are known, so I have to say that Jack's Place is decorated very nice in an old house, did a good job decorative and worth knowing about it and for its menu of coffees with liqueur. Good for an afternoon with cold ... and unhurried.

One of my favorite works in La Lupe II in Red House Gallery

And more we come to the events that have sent me this week and notice that several of them are of such a scheduler so allow them to go from one event to another the same day, without having to travel long distances. support our writers, artists and merchants from downtown.

And good radios with national programming also: Radio Universidad 92.1 FM and The Rock Circus .

put them back a list of all courses, a listing risen to the last post, with short and long courses, visual arts, avant garde and conceptual art, traditional crafts, and more. I recommend them all! No matter that we have no special talent, because there is no way to continue growing and growing as people. In addition, re good way to make new friends. cheer up!
